Maserati has put out a recall on approximately 13,092 units including the Quattroporte and Ghibli sedans. The recall is for the joystick like gear shifter that will lead many people to believe their vehicle is in park, but subsequently isn't.
This then leaves the vehicle in a neutral position, contrary to the drivers thought, and the vehicle then rolls away.
Maserati has stated that no injuries, crashes, or roll aways have been reported as of yet, and a software re-flash will likely remedy the problem.
The affected vehicles were built from June 1, 2013 to February 23, 2014.
Owners will receive a notification on July 1st, and then a follow up when the software is ready.
