I’m currently searching for a code scanner that can read and reset codes for my 2019 Maserati Levante. Recommendations are appreciated, thanks in advance!

It's not a straightforward process with the new secure gateway. But getting to those cables is worse on some of the other cars. I am not an expert on what all scanners can do this but this special cable is required for all of them. Luckily the cable is cheap and available on Amazon.

There is a new cost effective and very capable scanner available on Amazon. Otofix D1 Lite by Autel. $319. Look at reviews on Youtube as well. I have one, once you register the device you can bypass any (my Levante yes, who knows how many others) security gateway. Pretty sweet. You need to create an account on AutoAuth with your Otofix unit. Don't think you can get an an AutoAuth without an authorized diagnostic system.
That's awesome kevin8fong. I didn't know any scanner managed to bypass that without the add on cable. I love the Otofix stuff. I have an Autel and will have to check if they were able to bypass it with a newer update without using the special cable. Otofix and Autel have an affiliate relationship and basically can do the same things. For bypassing on the Levante with the extra cable its not fun but not horrible. Some of the other Dodge vehicles etc that use that same system are a royal pain in the $#%.

I bought one after seeing that and it's incredible! The only thing I found a little annoying is that it's sensitive to using a good USB-C cable to charge it. I thought my unit was dead, but in reality it wasn't getting properly charged. Also, I believe Autel owns Otofix, a different division. I visited them at the last CES.
Great post! I bought a new Otofix Lite off EBay for under $300 after reading this thread and couldn't be happier. The initial setup takes a little while but I found that the AutoAuth subscription isn't necessary if you go through the trouble to jumper in the secure gateway bypass. Tradeoff is the fifteen minutes of contortion activity removing the hush pad and plugging in the gateway bypass. Also, this Lite unit only scans codes and resets the oil service light - no programming capabilities. That was fine for me plus it works resetting the other cars I have. Thanks, folks.
