We've been waiting for a long time, but now we finally get a look at the 2016 Maserati Levante in test mule form. The pictures you see here were taken in Italy.
Okay, the prototype doesn't actually look like the production model, but we can glean some interesting information still. The crossover will be based on the Ghibli and feature changes like an increased ride height, a wider track and possibly a more focused all-wheel drive system. There are also weights in the roof of the prototype to simulate the additional mass of the crossover.
The Levante will be introduced sometime next year and be built at the Mirafiori plant in Turin, Italy.
