A short while ago it would have be unimaginable to see a SUV from the likes of Bentley, Lanborghini or McLaren, but it's amazing how time and consumer trends can change things. Even Rolls-Royce will be coming out with a SUV, the Cullinan, coming out in 2018.
Just recently McLaren said it wouldn't hop on the crossover bandwagon, but now it has admitted that a SUV is a possibility.
Apparently such a vehicle would cost "millions and millions of pounds" to develop as a brand new platform would be needed. Until such a platform and vehicle is developed, check out the couple photos I've included which are renders of McLaren SUVs of the future. It was back in March when we heard McLaren saying it can make money without resorting to an SUV, but now the company’s chief designer told Autocar it could eventually happen. Robert Melville mentions the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) division is capable of building “whatever you want, if you have the money for it.”
The list of auto brands that have no crossover in the works or on sale is short: Mclaren, Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Pagani, Ferrari, and a few others.
