if the price point remains competitive, yes the Jag, BMWX5/X6, Audi, and Cayenne all have been sighted by Mas dealers as slight competitors. The key for Mas is to bring a quality offering at a similar price, otherwise they'll lose and big cause head to head - they still lack in their dealer network support so the only thing they can bring is a truly competitive offering on price alone otherwise, people will remain with what they are currently driving. (NOTE: all the others are well within a US $58K - 98K MSRP range - If the base starts too high on the Mas - it loses out of the gate)
that's going to be a problem for maserati, pulling people away from what they're already used to and to their new SUV.
also it's not like they have any other way around getting into more dealers than to open more dealers which may be a very costly move. they just might have to take a big risk here.
