Finally! A Maserati Levante test mule that actually is using the production body style. It is wearing a huge amount of camouflage, so we aren't getting much information on what to expect from the eventual reveal.
There are a few things that we can see though. There are slender headlights, a large grille, and a low ride height. Another exciting thing is the presence of a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system.
The Levante will be shown in full at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, and will be offered with a number of different engines, some of which have already been announced.
- A V6 with outputs of 350 PS (257 kW) and 425 PS (312 kW)
- A V8 with more than 560 PS (412 kW)
- A diesel with outputs of 250 PS (184 kW), 275 PS (202 kW) and 340 PS (250 kW)
More recently, Maserati CEO Harald Wester confirmed plans for a plug-in hybrid variant. There's no word on specifications but the eco-friendly powertrain will also be offered in the Ghibli and Quattroporte by early 2018.
