According to Federico Bellono, CGIL union leader in Turin, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has reduced the number of shifts at the automaker’s Grugliasco plant from 12 to 10. The factory currently builds the Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte and Bellono said, 'The company is predicting production of about 30,000 to 35,0000 cars at Grugliasco this year. I think it will be closer to 30,000.' The plant currently employs about 2,800 workers and FCA has reportedly told those workers that the plant will be working for three weeks out of the four up until July.
