When i blue tooth to my phone I can only get messages on the MTC from single people texting me.. If i am in a group text it does not notify me of a text.. I complained to service and was told that the system does not support group text??.. doesnt sound right... do others have this problem..

Haven't received a group text yet, but will try this out to see. It could be a software limitation.

So tested this out with a group text, and I received the group text, and Siri through car play asked me what I wanted to send back to the group. Since she's aware it's a group text, it must be supported, and it worked in my truck. Iphone 7 with the latest software, plugged into the USB port.

I didn't try Bluetooth, but I'll try that next, sorry, I forgot you mentioned Bluetooth. Stay tuned..

So Iphone 7 with Bluetooth, doesn't even alert on MTC for text messages for me. Not group, or individual. I only get alerts when I use the Car Play functionality plugged in with an Apple cable. Does your actually alert over bluetooth on the MTC that you received a text message? If so, what software version of MTC is your vehicle running?

yes using android bluetooth i will receive a text message ONLY from single text.. .. and it will read the text... Im not sure where the software version is.. but I am quite sure it is the latest because i was in the shop not long ago and they said they did all the updates to the MTC...

so when you ARE connected via the cable on Car Play... do you get group txt...?

So I figured out that my iPhone Bluetooth setting wasn't allowing notifications to be shown. Turned that option on, and I get text messages over Bluetooth now. I haven't yet been able to make group text messages work. I will say the MTC text message notifications box is primitive looking, and quite honestly a bit depressing, compared to the rest of the system. When I plug my phone in with the cable and use carplay, I do receive and can respond to the group messages I'm getting through the carplay interface.

So confirmed, no group texting supported in pure MTC, they come in as separate messages. With CarPlay they're recognized as group messages and respond as such.

thank you dabubbs... I believe you are correct... my wifes carplay worked fine....

but MY android auto...still WILL NOT to group text... im not sure if anyone else has had luck with the android auto??..and the MTC messaging is a complete let down...
