I thought that I would put together all the info that we have right now on the production of the Maserati Levante. For those of you who have been waiting patiently, you'll still have to wait another year or two before the Maserati Levante goes on sale as it is expected in 2015 or 2016.
Production of the Levante will take place at Fiat's Miafiori plant starting in 2015. That should come as good news to the workers there since the plant was running at just 16% capacity in 2013.
Following the production of the Levante in 2015, Maserati will also begin to build the Alfieri, a sporty two-seater that will also come in a cabriolet version.
These two new models are part of Maserati's plan to reach its sales targets of 50,000 for 2015 and 75,000 for 2018. In 2013 Maserati sold a total of 15,400, but this year it is on track to surpass that number by mid-year.
So there is the plan from Maserati and how the Levante fits into it. Now we will just have to see if Maserati is able to meet all of the dates and figures that it has set out for itself."It's an ambitious but also realistic plan, which is fundamental to turn Maserati into a true competitor to the great German carmakers," Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, chairman of sister brand Ferrari, said.
